Search Engine Panel Turns One

Posted:

Cupcake BearToday (November 19th, 2008) marks the one year anniversary of the Search Engine Panel blog! It has been a busy year for SEP, and in this post we will review the ups and the downs of our inaugural year. And while we are analyzing our current standing, let’s also set some goals for the year to come.

Posts and Comments

We are currently up to 95 published posts, that span across three main categories: Industry News; Search Engine Marketing and; Search Engine Optimization. This averages out to be approximately one post every 3.8 days, 1.8 posts per week, and 7.9 posts per month. There are 226 (approved) comments on SEP.

SEP managed to regularly publish 2 posts per week for the better part of the year, which has helped a great deal in growing the blog. Unfortunately, the last few months have been extremely busy, leaving us just short of the triple-digit mark. Our goal for the next year is to write 100+ posts.

SEP Subscribers

The all-time high for SearchEnginePanel.com subscribers was around 80 in late March 2008, but this number was readjusted to reflect true readership, which currently hovers around 50 people. The picture below depicts our exponential growth in the first few months, a steady increase following the adjustment, and a decrease in September and October due to diminished posting. We are hoping that subscribers will reach to the high XX range in the coming year.

PageRank, Technorati, and Alexa

SEP’s homepage has witnessed a steady rise in PageRank from N/A to PR4 as of the latest PageRank update in September. Our Technorati authority is 67 and we have 10 fans. As for our Alexa ranking, the 1-week average is 237, 703 and the 3-month average is 135, 850.
