Microsoft adCenter Keyword Research Tool Updates
Posted: September 1st, 2008
Microsoft has released a completely overhauled keyword research tool as part of its latest update to adCenter, enabling advertisers to more efficiently create keyword lists and direct their ad campaigns. Of the different features incorporated in this latest update, the most useful one is probably “Audience Insights,” so we will begin with looking at that.
Audience Insights
Audience Insights is essentially a demographics tool. Its graph displays age, gender, geographic, and search volume statistics for different keywords, and should give advertisers a deeper understanding of the searches. This information is useful for making custom landing pages suited to each user group, and to send the right marketing message to them. More targeted landing pages beget a better user experience and more potential leads.
Suggested Keywords
The new suggested keywords results provide further detail into the average clickthrough rate and average cost per click for an ad. This helps advertisers select the proper keywords for increasing traffic levels while controlling how much of the advertising budget is spent. “Suggested Keywords” is compatible with Microsoft’s adCenter Add-in for Excel, enabling users to export it for further offline analysis.
Keyword Collection
Sets of keywords can now be added to an ad group through the “keyword collection” tool. Keywords added will be automatically set to broad match with a default bid price. These can be edited later by choosing the ad group page found under “Campaign Management.”

Microsoft shouldn’t waste its money to these kind of works. They live search can’t index all the pages and drops indexed pages in less then a month.
