July 2008 PageRank Update

Posted:

New toolbar PageRanks have begun updating today and the entire process should be completed by the beginning of next week according to Matt Cutts. There hasn’t been any changes to SEP’s PageRank yet as of posting this (probably because the news is being broken just now).

Speaking of breaking news (shameless plug alert!), you can stay up-to-date on the latest search engine optimization news by subscribing to the SEP blog via our RSS feed or via email.

For those of you who are a bit unclear with what PageRank is (or what it isn’t), be sure to quickly read over our July 1st post that demystifies PageRank.

If you haven’t been too pleased with your PageRank because of possible penalties, you will be relieved to know that some of the older penalties will be retired/removed with this latest update. However, if post-update you still have a low PageRank and a nonexistent link building strategy, head over to our About page and contact us. Hopefully we will be able to work something out and get more links pointing to your website.

Good luck, everyone! :)

  9. @Karen:

    PageRank shouldn’t matter to most people unless you have a large website with many pages that need indexing. You can find out more about that here: http://www.searchenginepanel.com/demystifying-pagerank-what-it-is-and-isnt/.

    @Pras:

    Google usually exports toolbar PageRank once every quarter, although it’s really up to them how often they want to update it.
