Insufficient Traffic From YSM
Posted: February 19th, 2009
In the past week, many Yahoo Search Marketing (YSM) advertisers have been reporting significant drops to the level of traffic they are receiving from Yahoo’s ad network. It seems that this is more than just a random occurrence, as advertisers in different categories are feeling the traffic drought.
While it is normal for overall traffic to dip about 20% over the weekend, traffic has fallen by 50% in the middle of the week for this advertiser.
Theories
Some people are suggesting that the decreased traffic levels are due to the cancellation of Yahoo’s content network. The network does exist and is still used, but signs are pointing less usage of it. In fact, Yahoo’s contextual network ads, called “Content Match,” has been shut down in the United Kingdom as of last month.
Although it’s hard to believe that Yahoo will focus only on search ads, a complete removal of the content network could lead to less spammy sites and better ROIs for YSM users.

nice info…:)
They were obviously doing an algorithm change of some sort, plus they’re rolling out a new platform which will prove to be better.
