Incorporating SEO in Website Creation

The majority of websites today have not undergone SEO, and the few that have were optimized after their inceptions. This is normally the case since the world of SEO is relatively new, but should avoided if you’re looking to start a new website.
The planning stages of creating a website is a great opportunity to address some basic SEO issues, and to apply sound optimization techniques early on. In addition to saving both time and money down the road, incorporating SEO in the design phase may allow you to employ SEO tactics, that would otherwise be impossible apart from a complete site redesign.
One major aspect to address at this time is the navigation of the site. Try to create text-based navigation, and avoid using images, flash, or frames. This will improve your internal linking structure, assuming that your primary and secondary keywords will be used to describe the inner pages - which they should. These keywords should then also be used in the URL of those subpages, along with the title and header tags.
There are much more complex SEO matters that should be discussed as well, and it would be a good idea to sit your web design team and SEO team together at the next company picnic.
