Gmail Menu Gets a Makeover
Posted: February 5th, 2009
Yesterday, the Gmail team updated the look of Gmail’s menu. In addition to making the menu look more “solid,” the team has also added useful drop-down “Move To” and “Labels” buttons.

The “Move To” button is a welcomed addition, as you no longer need to label an email and then click “Archive.”
Use the Move to drop-down menu or the keyboard shortcut v if you want to apply a label to a message and archive it (moving it from your inbox to that label) at the same time.
This personally saves me time as I’m a big user of labels for organizing my emails, and archive anything that does get a label attached to it, keeping my Inbox items slim and relevant. Getting more done with less mouse-clicks is also an added bonus to my cordless mouse’s batteries.

It looks good. However i loved the earlier version of the gmail menus. They were cute and handy.
I’ve been using Gmail these few days and I didn’t even realize the change, oh my goodness
Guess that explains why I seem so ignorant at stuffs
I think the new menu is absolutely wonderful and I appreciate them continuing to make things easier for all of us. Change is good if it is accomplished for the users use and the Labels is one of my favorites also. Thanks for the post!
