Getting More From Social News Networks
Posted: November 28th, 2007
A great way to obtain quick viral traffic is through social news networks, which are also known as social bookmarking sites. Some of the more well-known ones include Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Furl, and Del.icio.us. With the increasing popularity and adoption of these services, it is important to get the most out of them.
Some things to consider:
1. Use an avatar. It’s an easy way to stand out to those with visual affinities.
2. Choose a unique username. This identifies who you are and establishes your presence (hopefully).
3. Write an engaging title and description. Show how your story is useful and of significance.
4. Submit unique content. Cut and pasting the first paragraph of a news article doesn’t benefit anyone.
5. Use proper English. Avoid spelling and grammatical errors to instill trust in your readers.
Also remember to make friends and to get involved in the network. These are after-all social news networks, and dedication to these services has its rewards. Read and digg/stumble/bookmark related stories, write comments on them, and join relevant groups.
