Finding Your Blogosphere Footprint
Posted: May 20th, 2009
In last month’s post on Improving the User Experience with Site Analytics, we have theorized that producing quality content is not only best for our website, but more importantly, is best for achieving the main objectives of our presence online. In more general terms, we should seek to market our website to the user experience (UX).
By the end of that post, and we had concluded that digging into web analytics data can play a major part in helping us understand what the user wants. Part of determining the impact of your site/company/brand on the Internet can be accomplished by investigating the marks that you have left (directly or indirectly) on the Blogosphere.
Searching Through Blogs
The two predominant blog search engines are Technorati and Google Blog Search. Both of these free services allow you to search through blogs to find those that mention a specific subject. Micro-blogging sites may also have their own internal search engine, such as Twitter Search.
For example, using your company name as the search query would list blogs that are talking about your company. Visit these blogs and read the relevant posts. Many of them will often explicitly say what they like or don’t like about you, and this is the information you should keep in mind when catering your website to the user experience.

Checking For Bookmarks
Social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, Reddit, and Diigo (formerly Furl.net) will also have their own internal search engines. These are particularly useful in finding out which of your individual web pages users have liked.

Hi I just stopped by to drop on your Entrecard and wanted to let you know that you have been added to Blog Angel’s All Above the Crease Drop List . I created the list because I was sick of wasting time trying to find people’s Ecards. You and everyone on the list has their Entrecards in an easy to find location. Stop by and check it out.
You mean to say, in making quality content blogs,we also have to consider what our reader wants…well, that’s true..no matter how good our blog is but if it does not meet readers interest then the PR is low.
@Joella: Thanks, I appreciate it.
@jong: Actually, whether or not your readers are interested in your blog has very little to do with PR (PageRank). I’d recommend that you read over this post for more information.
Ya accept the fact of viewers choice is the most important thing of our blogs .I have posted a blog on quantum 2 months ago but nobody has seen it -I wonder how many highly educated people are there on the net.
