Here are five great search engine marketing tips inspired by the Chief Marketing Officer of Newsforce, Dana Todd. With respect to building a solid search marketing campaign, you should have:
- Good tracking software along with good Key Performance Indicators.
- Establishing baseline metrics for measuring campaign performance.
- Various methods of keyword generation.
- Good solid copywriting.
- Continuous tweaking and updating.
Furthermore, a healthy budget can go a long way in testing and optimizing on-going campaigns, but be aware of possible diminishing returns when spending too much. Spending as much as 10% of the budget on testing is appropriate.
Brand names tend to perform very well as keywords and are great for conversions. Placing keywords in the title and description in ad copy is standard practice, and can improve overall CTR. You should pay close attention to your CTR because this can potentially raise or lower your costs as part of the whole “quality score” deal.
